A very old and mature cigar. These cigars (which are older than me) have been matured for 40 years. No box date printed on box. The age was estimated by Christies Auction House, using the Habanos stamp as a guide. One of the strongest of the Romeo y Julieta range. The Tres Petit Corona was known for its complex flavours. A minimum of 5 years is suggested for the cabinet boxes. The 12 years has really added to the cigars flavour, making this a extremely enjoyable little smoke. La Gloria Cubana Gloriosos are the first of the two Regional Edition cigars, authorised by Habanos S.A. in 2008 exclusively for the UK market. A medium strength smoke with a cool draw and the dark colorado maduro wrapper. Only 20,400 Gloriosos were made at the Partagas factory and they are presented in 2,040 numbered, varnished 10 boxes with nice rounded sides. Originally produced as a Diplomatic cigar prior to 1997, much like the original Cohiba Lanceros. In 1997 Habanos SA released the Funadores and at the time was the only Vitola produced under the Trinidad marque. 2008 saw a shorter Serie D No 4 become one the limited editions. The smoke is a little lighter compared the D4. Pretty much the same smoke just a tad shorter. The rise in this size of cigar, can be seen in many new regional and world limited editions. [more details]

The Du Dauphin was released in 1969 along with the Cohiba Corona Especial & Montecristo Especial No2 cigars of the same size. Production has now ended on this model, although small supplies still remain in the UK. The complex creamy woody flavours this cigar offers need a little TLC to experience this cigar to its full potential. The slight bitterness found in Cuaba cigars, mellows out after 5-6 years. The 9+ years on this cigar really allows hints of herbs and woodiness to come through. When these cigar where first released in 2008 they got a little flack from the cigar reviewers online. As a result we opted to sit on them (not literally of course) for a couple of years to see if an extra 2 years of age would improve the smoke. I tried one of these at the start of Summer 2011 and oh boy have the blossomed. We only have 1 box of these big Torpedo's. They start off a little light, but as always they build and build. Smooth but with enough flavours to please any fan of Punch, Ramon Allones or Vegas Robainia. The balance of smooth cool smoke along with the earthy flavours makes for a fantastic smoke.
