The base is made up from Kentucky Shag and a dark Virginia & Kentucky flake, a good helping of Perique (16%) and a little Turkish to keep it burning well. The aroma is spectacular, dark fire cured leafs mixed with pungent Perique. The flake has been left part broken, part intact.
A strong mixture, only suggested for the Perique lovers out there. The high ratio 16% creates a powerful smoke, while the base really gives the mix some spine.
As of April 19th 2012 the blend has been altered slightly due availability of the Turkish leaf we used. We now use a slightly spicier Izmir tobacco, with the Turkish being such a small proportion of the blend it has made very little difference to the flavour.
