Once upon a time Syria was the sole producer of Latakia, the climate & experience produces a rich, punchy and very smoky tobacco. Over the decades Cyprus and few other places have also produced there own take on Latakia, these are close but have nothing on the original. While the Syrian stuff has become harder and harder to source, the Cypriot is now used in 95-99% of all Latakia blends. This can be seen in the blends sold today, we only carry 2 blends with this iconic tobacco.
