Pipe Night At The Embankment
If you are a pipe smoker you may wish to add the 28th of August to your diary as we will be holding a very special Pipe Night At The Embankment Pub & Kitchen in Trent Bridge. Pipe smoking is currently going through a bit of a resurgence in the UK, so we thought it was time to get back to basics and resurrect our legendary pipe evenings of years gone by.
On our pipe night, we will be joined by, not one, but two of the UK's top tobacco producers. Scott Vines of TOR Imports will be on hand to talk about his brand Charatan. The Charatan tobaccos were launched earlier this year to fill the void left by the discontinued Dunhill pipe tobaccos. Back engineered to reflect the dearly departed Dunhills, the Charatan range has been very warmly received and have proved very successful. Each incarnation of Charatan approximately recreates a Dunhill tobacco, so if you were a fan of the Dunhills, you will want to try some of the Charatans for sure.
Our second guest on the night will be Iain Hurst of Gawith Hoggarth, the famous tobacco producer based in Kendal in the Lake District. Gawith Hoggarth produces several hundred different tobaccos and is one of the UK's biggest producers of the quality pipe tobacco. Established in the mid-1800's Gawith Hoggarth have been supplying the UK pipe smoker, whoever he or she is, for over 160 years!
The pipe night costs £10 per person to attend. Each paying guest will receive 6 different 10g samples of tobacco to enjoy on the night, 3 from the Charatan Range, and 3 from Gawith Hoggarths extended range. We will also bring along a selection of pipes to tempt you with and a selection of other tobaccos by both producers. It promises to be a great evening and we hope, the first of many more to come!
