Our first virtual event in a little while will feature, quite possibly, the most famous brand from Nicaragua! Established in 1968, Joya De Nicaragua were the first producer to set up base in Esteli, in what is now considered to be the capital of cigar production in Nicaragua.
In those 53 years, they have experienced many setbacks that would have made many other businesses pack up shop and move to a better place. These difficulties included, civil wars, earthquakes and hurricanes to name but three, however, the people of Nicaragua are strong-willed and just seem to get 'get on with it' no matter what, never letting a major disaster or a calamity get in the way!
This chosen cigar for this event will be Joya De Nicaragua Cinco Decadas Diadema. Released to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Joya, the Cinco Decadas were an instant hit - beautifully crafted, gorgeous in appearance and an absolute delight to smoke showing a rare depth and intensity in the flavours produced. We will be joined by Christhian Lanzas (live from Nicaragua) from Joya De Nicaragua who will give us all the info on the cigar and insight into Joya and the cigar industry in general.
We will also be tasting the Flor De Cana 18-year-old Rum alongside the Decadas. Established in 1890 (just 10 years after Gauntleys was founded), the distillery was built at the base of the San Cristóbal volcano, the tallest and most active volcano in Nicaragua. The fertility of its surrounding lands, the enriched water and the hot volcanic climate proved to be instrumental in forging the rum’s unique and smooth flavour.

DELIVERY
UK delivery
We use Royal Mail which normally arrives the next working day if you order before 2pm, although this is not guaranteed. To guarantee that your order does arrive by 1pm the next day please call the shop on 01159 110555 to arrange. Your order will be then sent out by Special Delivery. There will be a small extra additional charge for this service. The standard delivery cost is shown in the basket page and in the checkout.
Click and collect
You can click and collect from our Nottingham shop. Select click and colllect in the checkout to save the delivery cost, pay online prices (which can sometimes be lower) and check your items are available before heading into town.
Pre delivery check
We check all cigars before they are sent out. Loose cigars are packaged in a humi-pouch designed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Packets of cigars are opened to check that the cigars are in the correct condition, re-sealed then sent using a special padded envelope.

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country. These charges are usually levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you will need to contact your local customs office if you require further information.
