Our next cigar club evening is now upon us and I thought it was time for something just a little bit different. I have always had a fascination with dark skinned (Maduro) cigars and was always under the impression that they were the intensely full-bodied ones. Not so, as I was later to find out. Certainly, the Maduro wrapper can impart a bit more flavour and yes, some can be quite rich but many still show a delicacy and balance that many a 'normal' cigar can lack. So, it is with great delight, and just a modicum of excitement that I inform you that our Maduro cigar evening will take place on the 17th of October at the Walton Hotel, Derby Road, Nottingham.

There will be two cigars on the night, both of which are quite large in format, but don't be scared, they are fantastic! The La Galera range has been a part of our listings for the best part of two years and is now one of our top selling brands. Based in the Dominican Republic, La Galera are rolled only by the best rollers of Tabacalera Palma and are made from premium grade and mature long filler tobaccos. Our featured La Galera will be the Cortador Maduro Torpedo. Although quite rich in flavour, these medium-bodied beauties show some surprisingly delicate touches. There is some bitter dark chocolate, some coffee and a lovely leathery note showing some gentle cedary nuances on the finish. 

Our second cigar is brand new and has only just been released in the UK and is the Casa Turrent 1880 Toro Limited Edition. This is so new that I don't even have any product information about it, but the various bits of feedback I have had has been nothing short of glowing.
