In 1916 Don Santiago Toraño becomes Cuba’s first tobacco broker supplying most of Cuba’s cigar factories and large American cigar factories. After the nationalisation of the cigar industry, the Toraño family moved to the Dominican Republic bringing the Cuban seed and growing experience. After Santiago’s death, his son Carlos took over the company and expanded into producing their own cigars, as well producing quality tobaccos in Mexico, Nicaragua & Ecuador for export.

Carlos Toraño cigars are a great example of Dominican cigars, smooth with subtle cedar hints. A great cigar for the beginner or occasional smoker.
