Centro Fino is a classification for the leaves of the sun-grown tobacco plant taken around mid-way up the plant. These generally constitute Seco leaves in the blend of a Havana cigar and are valued for their satisfying taste and aromas.

Another very innovative blend from the guys at Drew Estate and one that is is also pretty unique to cigars in general. The unique thing is the addition of fire cured tobacco's from Kentucky and Virginia. Normally, tobacco's used in cigar production are air-cured in big drying houses, but the tobacco's used here are cured in specially constructed curing barns where they fire cured. This process makes for a rich, smoky hickory character that is quite sweet and very long on the finish. Not only that, although the flavours are big and bold, the smoke itself is quite rounded and almost silky in texture. Absolutely wonderful.

Línea Maestra is a premium extension to the Partagas range in the same way that Behike was for Cohiba in 2010, Línea 1935 for Montecristo in 2017 and Línea de Oro for Romeo y Julieta in 2020. It is the second addition following the introduction of the Partagas Línea Maduro in 2018.

The three new sizes which make up the Linea Maestra are Origen, Rito and Maestro. All are unique within the Habanos portfolio and have been crafted with a Cabeza Tumbada or ‘dropped head, a style often referred to as a ‘109’ due to Partagas 109 cigars rolled with the same finish included in commemorative branded humidors in the past. This traditional style of finishing was last seen on the Ramon Allones Hunters & Frankau Anniversario 225, a special release in 2015 to celebrate the 225th anniversary of the company.

For the first time in the history of the brand and the Habanos, S.A. portfolio, all the tobacco for the new Línea comes exclusively from the San Luis region of Pinar del Río, Cuba. Since the introduction of the My Father brand in 2008, the Garcia Family seem to come up with hit blend after hit blend. After a lengthy wait for international availability, we are delighted to say that the My Father The Judge Grand Robusto has finally arrived.

Originally released at the end of 2016, the My Father The Judge Grand Robusto was named Cigar Journal No1 Cigar of the Year 2017. The Judge features three different Nicaraguan fillers, all grown on Garcia family farms as well as Corojo and Criollo binders and finished with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. This cigar full bodied starts off slightly salty, with interesting woody and almond tones. It is unbelievably smooth, nutty, delicately acidic, and develops subtle notes of anise, coffee and bread in the very creamy smoke texture.

If you enjoyed the Oscar Superfly with its wonderful 1970's look you are going to love this! This retro-looking cigar has a very 1980's thing going on. With a big nod to the Back To The Future series of films, including naming the cigar after the lead character Marty McFly.

The McFly is a medium to full-bodied smoke that utilises an exciting blend of premium aged filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Honduras and Nicaragua, bound together with a Honduran binder and draped in a gorgeous Mexican wrapper. You will notice that the foot of the cigar is feathered so is not neat and tidy like some. The smoke is quite deep with a soft salinity at the start before it develops a little sweetness. This has notes of leather and gentle spice and although the sweetness retreats slightly during the smoke it makes a welcome return towards the climax. Definitely one to enjoy with a coffee or dark rum.

My Father Cigars are celebrating what would have been the 100th birthday of José Garcia Alayón, the father of José ‘Pepin’ Garcia, with a pair of limited editions for its Le Bijou 1922 line. Called My Father Le Bijou 1922 100 Años Limited Edition, these cigars use a slightly modified blend from that of the rest of the Le Bijou 1922 line.

They remain Nicaraguan puros and use a very dark Habano wrapper that the company refer to as ‘Oscuro Oscuro or ‘Habano My Father’. All of the tobaccos used in the blend come from the Garcia family’s San Rafael, Las Quebradas and San José farms and are described as being unique for their aromatics. The company have said that they undergo a special fermentation process to release all of the aromas and flavours that the Garcia family were looking for out of this blend.

This, the Corona Extra, gets a soft box press and is finished with pigtail caps. Limited production of 1,922 boxes in a nod to the year of José Garcia Alayón’s birth.
