Drew Estate is commemorating ten years of Undercrown with the global release of Undercrown 10, a bold new ultra-premium addition to Undercrown’s current premium lineup of Maduro, Shade and Sun Grown expressions.

To celebrate the brand’s anniversary in 2021, Drew Estate is getting “All Dekk'd Out”, a tag line that denotes Undercrown 10’s elegant packaging and reinforces the pride of Undercrown’s ten years of excellence. The new, sophisticated packaging is surpassed only by Undercrown 10’s complex, rich and bold blend of ultra-premium aged tobaccos that includes the highest priming of Mexican San Andres dark wrapper, the very finest Broadleaf binder from the Connecticut River Valley, and a tripa blend of select and rare Nicaraguan tobaccos.

“Undercrown 10 offers smokers an experience of Mexican hot chocolate … naturally sweet with hints of raisin and cacao … waves of intense black pepper … along with notes of sun-dried cherries, espresso, woodiness and earthiness,” says La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate Factory Spokesman, Pedro Gomez.

Born on the factory floor at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, the Undercrown brand is a passionate testament to the creative talent, dedication and self-determination of Drew Estate’s Torcedores. Blended with many of the same rare vintages found in Liga Privada, Undercrown quickly became a grand slam for Drew Estate as consumers felt a deep personal connection to the grass-roots firebrand that celebrates the typically unheralded working-class heroes employed at the Drew Estate cigar factory.

The unique thing is the addition of fire cured tobacco's from Kentucky and Virginia. Normally, tobacco's used in cigar production are air-cured in big drying houses, but the tobacco's used here are cured in specially constructed curing barns where they fire cured. This process makes for a rich, smoky hickory character that is quite sweet and very long on the finish. Not only that, although the flavours are big and bold, the smoke itself is quite rounded and almost silky in texture. Absolutely wonderful.

Another firm favourite from the mighty Drew Estate is Liga Privada (Private Blend) No.9. Originally crafted for Drew Estate's personal humidors, they were not intended to be a retail product. Dozens of intricate blends were created but this one, the No.9, fit the bill and ticked all the right boxes. Rich, complex and full-bodied.

Seven very different tobaccos are used in the blend; The wrapper is hand fermented for 18 month's + and no sweat is allowed. This is a very labour intensive part of the process. Only four pairs of rollers are allowed to produce these cigars with each pair only allowed to craft 250 cigars a day! The cigars are then aged for a full year before being put on sale.

Very limited and extremely wonderful!

Meticulously blended over 2 years to produce a quite full-bodied smoke. Notes of Black Pepper and spice. These seriously limited Drew Estate cigars are sure to go quick, so one would recommend being very quick.

Another wonderful example of the very experimental nature of Drew Estate. The Unico Series is another blend that was originally created for Drew Estate themselves. Again, many dozens of blends were created before they settled on this one, but quantities are a minute. The blend for this particular example is top secret, but I can tell you it is robust, full-bodied and so, so good!
