Every year around this time I task myself with deciding my top 5 cigars for the year, which sounds like an easy task to do in theory, but in practice is much more difficult. Even from day to day my choices could change, which makes compiling a list rather tricky!
After much thought and wringing of hands, I have finally got there and picked my top 5 for year...one cigar from last years top 5 almost made it again Rocky Patel Sixty Sixty but it was just pipped by the Frued SuperEgo Toro.
So without further adieu ....
1. Olmec Toro - Nicaragua.
Connecticut Broadleaf is given a starring role here and what a performer it is - this is bang on the money being richly flavoured, earthy and velvetty. Great with coffee, rum or friends!
2. Charatan 160th Anniversary - Nicaragua
Silky, smooth and elegant, just like me! Similar to Cuba's Cohiba, but a third of the price!
3. Oscar 10th Anniversary Toro - Honduras
Made by Rocky Patels former Tour Guide bus driver - Big and bold with a deep earthy, almost biscuity edge to it. Totally stunning!
4. Partagas Maduro No.1 - Cuba
Made with specially selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone in the Pinar del RÃo region of Cuba, these offer up some great complexity and depth of flavour. The wrapper is made using only the best leaves harvested from the top portion of Shade Grown tobacco plants, all of which have seen an additional period of fermentation to develop that rich texture and intense colour. Always great and never disappoints!
5. Freud SuperEgo Toro - Dominican Republic
Made by Eladio Dias, former master blender at Davidoff. This is nothing like any Davidoff I have tried (OK, I haven't tried that many!). This dispalys a rich tapestry of flavours, including notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and subtle spices, creating a harmonious and indulgent blend.
DELIVERY
UK delivery
We use Royal Mail which normally arrives the next working day if you order before 2pm, although this is not guaranteed. To guarantee that your order does arrive by 1pm the next day please call the shop on 01159 110555 to arrange. Your order will be then sent out by Special Delivery. There will be a small extra additional charge for this service. The standard delivery cost is shown in the basket page and in the checkout.
Click and collect
You can click and collect from our Nottingham shop. Select click and colllect in the checkout to save the delivery cost, pay online prices (which can sometimes be lower) and check your items are available before heading into town.
Pre delivery check
We check all cigars before they are sent out. Loose cigars are packaged in a humi-pouch designed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Packets of cigars are opened to check that the cigars are in the correct condition, re-sealed then sent using a special padded envelope.

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country. These charges are usually levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you will need to contact your local customs office if you require further information.
