The Alfred Dunhill setup his world famous Duke Street tobacconist in 1907 and soon opened his pipe factory near by in 1910. The Duke street store became renowned for high quality tobaccos, cigars, pipes, lighters and other accessories. To this day Dunhill still leads the way as the most prestige smoking brand in the UK.

The Dunhill catagloe from 1985 classes 965 as "Rich flavour, fine aroma, very cool smoking, frequently quoted as ‘the finest mixture ever introduced.’ Choicest small Latakia leaves, bright Oriental leaf from Macedonia and Brown Cavendish" A full flavoured Oriental and Latakia mixture, a flavour highly favoured by Alfred Dunhill. This blend was first produced in 1910 and the flavour is still a firm favourite today
