Over the course of the last few month's we have seen a number of new, limited release cigars arrive in our humidor. Some are limited by the quantity made (and who made them!), others are limited by the scarcity or age of the tobaccos used, but which ever way you look at it, they are rare and won't be available for long.

Rather than sell these as complete boxes like a number of other retailers would do, we have decided to share the love a little more evenly with our customers, by offering a sampler pack of one of each of the following cigars. Each pack contains 3 cigars - get them whilst you can.

Freud Cigar Co. Agape Super Robusto - Limited to 3500 boxes of 10 worldwide.

Speaking of sharing the love, the first cigar is called Agape (A-gap-pay) which is an old Greek word meaning the highest form of love! Made by the one and only Eladio Diaz former Davidoff master blender who has been renowned for creating some of the industries top cigars. Eladio, who is now in his late sixties, gave up his prestigious post at Davidoff after 38 years to set up on his own so that he can leave a lasting legacy for his family.

Setting up his new factory in Santiago (Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera) with the help of Luis Torres, a former cigar retailer, the pair set about creating this wonderful Dominican Puro. The care and attention that has gone in to this cigar is phenomenal - only 5 pairs of the very best Dominican cigar rollers were used - the tobaccos used are of super-premium quality with a fair bit of ageing. Eladio though, bless his cotton socks, has been very reluctant to release the break down of the blend!

The Agape is a medium-bodied cigar that starts off being quite creamy and floral before developing into something more woody and chocolatey. There is a moderate amount of well integrated spice in their too to complete the whole ensemble.


Meerapfel La Estancia Edicion Exclusiva 50 - Robusto

This is even more unusual as it is a blend of CUBAN and Nicaraguan tobaccos - not only that, the Cuban portion has a minimum age of 40 plus years! Made by the Meerapfel family of Germany who have a very long history of tobacco growing and trading (and cigar making) spanning centuries. Formed in Untergrombach in the Karlsruhe region of Germany they have access to some of the world's finest tobaccos, hence this very unusual creation.

'Combining the soul of Cuba and the spirit of Nicaragua' the resulting cigar has rich, opulent aromas and a dense, yet rounded palate. Because of the age of the tobacco used, these have an elegance rarely found in modern-day cigar production.

Oliva V Melanio Edicion Ano 2022

These Lonsdale sized cigars (6 1/2 inches by 44 ring gauge) are made using a combination of carefully fermented Ligero leaves to create a medium to full-bodied cigar. The filler tobaccos are a blend of Oliva Nicaraguan Habano that emphasises tobacco from the Jalapa region, which tends to be a little more nuanced than the other areas of Nicaragua. Although quite full-bodied, they are round and relatively smooth. Unlike pretty much all the other Melanio cigars presently available, these are round, NOT boxed pressed.

Only 100 boxes were available for the UK when initially released.
