Dominican Cigar Evening - THURSDAY June 6th 2024 - Single
I am finally in a position to announce the theme and cigars for this event. The Dominican Republic is quite possibly the biggest cigar producing country in the world and shares a climate that is similar to it's more illustrious neighbour Cuba.
Our evening will feature two cigars which are guaranteed to satisfy, the Chateau Diadem Conviction Double Robusto (rrp £25.70) and the Freud SuperEgo Toro (rrp £26,85).We will be joined on the night by Phil Matthews of Bright Leaf, the UK importer.
Not only are we holding the event on a different day (we normally hold events on a Wednesday), but we are using a new venue too. The long established Sir John Borlase Warren near Nottingham city centre, is our chosen venue as it has a fantastic range of real ale's, fine spirits and whiskies.

All dates are non-transferable. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct date, time and venue as we will not accept any responsibility with regards any losses incurred. If you find that you can't attend an event please notify us at the earliest opportunity, either via e-mail on [email protected] or via the phone on 01159 110555 so that we can make alternative arrangements with you.
Although we don't expect any of the above dates to change, if they do we will notify you at the earliest opportunity either via e-mail or text. If you find that you can't attend the new date we will of course offer to move you on to the next available cigar evening. We do advise that you check our website a week or so before the event just to be safe.
If you wish to bring along any non-smoking, it is very important that you check with us on the above number BEFORE ATTENDING. Space will be at a premium and it may not be possible to have extra people attending, but we will try to accommodate where possible.
If we need to cancel an event for whatever reason we will of course offer to move you on to the next available cigar evening or offer a full refund.
DELIVERY
UK delivery
We use Royal Mail which normally arrives the next working day if you order before 2pm, although this is not guaranteed. To guarantee that your order does arrive by 1pm the next day please call the shop on 01159 110555 to arrange. Your order will be then sent out by Special Delivery. There will be a small extra additional charge for this service. The standard delivery cost is shown in the basket page and in the checkout.
Click and collect
You can click and collect from our Nottingham shop. Select click and colllect in the checkout to save the delivery cost, pay online prices (which can sometimes be lower) and check your items are available before heading into town.
Pre delivery check
We check all cigars before they are sent out. Loose cigars are packaged in a humi-pouch designed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Packets of cigars are opened to check that the cigars are in the correct condition, re-sealed then sent using a special padded envelope.

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country. These charges are usually levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you will need to contact your local customs office if you require further information.
