The Awesome Foursome Summer Special - Cigar Evening 28th August - Single
Back in January we held an experimental cigar evening which featured three of our lovely suppliers for an inter-brand challenge. This was quite possibly an industry first in the UK as pretty much any event in any retailer would be one event, one supplier. The evening itself was an astonishing success with our customers who thoroughly enjoyed and it was also good to see the camaraderie (with a competitive edge) between the suppliers!
Over the last few months I have received a number of requests to ask if we are going to repeat the exercise, which of course I am. So for your delight and delectation I am pleased to announce that our 'Awesome Foursome Summer Special' will take place on Wednesday 28th of August and will feature cigars from FOUR different suppliers!
The evening will feature the following importers..
TOR Imports with Helen Groome
Bright Leaf UK with Phil Matthews
Davidoff UK with Anthony Roussou
and brand new supplier 1573 Cigars will be represented by George Frakes.
The evening is priced at £45 per person which entitles each paying guest to 2 of the 4 cigars on show. The option to buy the others will be made available later in the evening. On this occasion I will be keeping what the cigars will be secret until the event itself.
The full mechanics will be explained on the night, but the short version is, at the start of the evening each supplier will have 3 minutes to tell the story of his or her brand and / or cigar - once these presentations are complete, customers will be asked to select their two chosen cigars.
The winning cigar will be the one that proves to be the most popular in this first round of 'voting' and will win the coveted title of 'Cigar Of The Night'.
Due to a late announcement of a football match now taking place on the 28th, we have had to change venue at the last moment - the evening will now be held at the Magic Garden, 24-26 Low Pavement, Nottingham. Places will still be limited, so book now to avoid disappointment. My thanks go to the team at the Magic Garden for helping us - it is very much appreciated!
DELIVERY
UK delivery
We use Royal Mail which normally arrives the next working day if you order before 2pm, although this is not guaranteed. To guarantee that your order does arrive by 1pm the next day please call the shop on 01159 110555 to arrange. Your order will be then sent out by Special Delivery. There will be a small extra additional charge for this service. The standard delivery cost is shown in the basket page and in the checkout.
Click and collect
You can click and collect from our Nottingham shop. Select click and colllect in the checkout to save the delivery cost, pay online prices (which can sometimes be lower) and check your items are available before heading into town.
Pre delivery check
We check all cigars before they are sent out. Loose cigars are packaged in a humi-pouch designed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Packets of cigars are opened to check that the cigars are in the correct condition, re-sealed then sent using a special padded envelope.

Delivery outside the UK
For all delivery destinations outside of the UK - although your order is not subject to UK VAT it will be subject to the local taxes and duties of your country. These charges are usually levied once the package reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country, so you will need to contact your local customs office if you require further information.
